This section is devoted to resources that will advocate for a developing media literacy curriculum within secondary education. Each resource is intended to demonstrate the necessity of a media literacy program as an important contribution to high school education. Within this blog, you will find information that will combine international, national, and local resources to explicate benefits of media literacy towards educators.
Those unfamiliar with Media Literacy Education, can find more information by following this link to the National Association for Media Literacy Education website. The definitions provided, serve as a platform to this discussion.
The content and information that is shared in this forum, will be developed from the NAMLE’s definition of Media Literacy defined as:
Media education is the study of media, including ‘hands on’ experiences and media production.
To do this, I will focus on the ‘hands on’ and ‘media production’ premises that will demonstrate the principles of media literacy. This focus will be defined as multimedia within the curriculum, and used as a technical methodology of education towards media literacy.
